Hipólito joins us as a Senior Policy Fellow to play a leading role in a major new global programme of work to support finance ministries in improving economic analysis and modelling to drive climate action. This post sits within the Stern team on international climate action and finance at LSE’s Grantham Research Institute, as part of its work with the Coalition of Finance Ministers for Climate Action and other economic decision-makers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Background<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Hipólito comes from the Climate Change Division of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), where he was part of the technical secretariat for the LAC Regional Climate Change Platform for Economy and Finance Ministries, helping to mainstream climate policy within finance ministries. He also supported IDB’s operations in Chile and was responsible for producing key knowledge products to guide the bank’s climate action strategies. Prior to this, he worked in the Budget Office of Chile’s Ministry of Finance (DIPRES), advising on climate policy and its fiscal implications. Born in Chile and holding a master’s degree in economics and finance from Pompeu Fabra University, he is passionate about advancing sustainable development and climate action through policy-making.<\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"\n
