Jyotsna (Joy) was the Project Co-ordinator and Researcher for the NATURANCE<\/a> Project from May 2023 until January 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Background<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Before joining the Grantham Research Institute, Joy was an interdisciplinary development researcher working on a wide range of projects, including migration, labour, anticipatory action and rural agriculture. Joy has supported projects both at the headquarters and local level across the United States, United Kingdom, Middle East, and Sub-Saharan Africa. She was a Small Island Developing States (SIDS) partnerships consultant for the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals Division in New York, a digital labour researcher for the International Labor Organization’s Labour Migration Branch in Jordan (in collaboration with the World Economic Forum) and researcher for several non-profit organizations.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Joy holds a BA in Political Science & Middle East Studies from Fordham University, an MSc in International Development from the University of Edinburgh and an MA degree in Poverty Development from the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) in Brighton, UK. Her most recent research at IDS focused on the socio-economic implications of emerging climate change systems in rural agrarian communities in South Asia.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n
