Anu is a climate adaptation practitioner and a PhD candidate at the Department of Geography and Environment. Her research sits at the intersection of domestic finance, community vulnerability, and climate adaptation in South Asia. Specifically, her thesis focuses on physical climate risks to socio-economically vulnerable borrowers in India and its implications for financial institutions involved in priority sector lending and financial regulation in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Background<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Prior to commencing her PhD, Anu worked with Acclimatise – now part of the Climate and Resilience Hub<\/path><\/svg><\/a>, WTW – providing technical assistance on climate adaptation and resilience projects in South and South-East Asia. Before that she worked for the New Delhi-based think tank Centre for Policy Research<\/path><\/svg><\/a> (CPR) where she undertook research on state action plans on climate change<\/path><\/svg><\/a> in India. She kickstarted her career as a business and environmental journalist. Given her past role as journalist, Anu periodically works on critical discourse analyses of climate change in the media and has contributed to book chapters<\/path><\/svg><\/a> on the topic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anu holds an MSc in Environmental Change and Management (distinction) from the University of Oxford. She is a Chevening Scholar and fellow of the US Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Programme. She is also the recipient of the WTW Research Network <\/path><\/svg><\/a>grant and continues to collaborate with the Network on her research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
