Johannes was a Policy and Data Analyst working at the TPI Global Climate Transition Centre<\/path><\/svg><\/a>, an investor-backed initiative that provides asset owners and managers with data on the carbon performance and climate governance of the world’s largest listed companies. He works on the ASCOR project which involves researching climate risk for countries and developing a framework for assessing these risks for sovereign bonds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Background<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Johannes holds a M.Sc. in Economics from the University of Munich (LMU) and the University of Bologna and B.Sc. in Economics and Political Science from the University of Cologne. Working at the 2°C Investing Initiative e.V. as Junior Analyst and Research Intern, he conducted research on how central banks approach climate change risks, sustainability topics in general (as TCFD, climate risks management and frameworks), co-published different reports, and prepared data for portfolio alignment. At the Institute for the World Economy, he investigated carbon budgets and how they can be manipulated with negative emissions. Johannes also deepened his quantitative skills at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, where he contributed to time-series forecasting. These skills were used in his master thesis in which he analysed the relationship between economic growth and temperature extremes with data from satellites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
