Thomas is an applied microeconomist interested in questions of environmental economics. In his research, Thomas seeks to improve economic estimates of climate change impacts and to inform the design of cost-effective mitigation policy for greenhouse gases and air pollutants.<\/p>\n

Thomas works as Climate Advisor at the National Bank of Belgium.<\/p>\n

Thomas holds a PhD in Economics from Universitat Pompeu Fabra.<\/p>\n
Previously, Thomas was a Policy Officer at the Directorate-General for Climate Action at the European Commission in Brussels, a High Meadows Post-Doctoral Economist at the Office of the Chief Economist at the Environmental Defense Fund in New York, as well as a visiting PhD student at the Grantham Research Institute.<\/p>\n
