“The world is facing a climate and nature crisis and Andrew fully supports a net zero target by 2050.
Andrew is a Calstock Parish Councillor for Harrowbarrow Ward, an environmentalist, dental practitioner, associate member of the University of Plymouth, and a founder member of The B4 Project (a native honey bee CIC).
Andrew is fully supportive of the work that Lord Robin Teverson (Liberal Democrat) has done to address the climate and biodiversity emergency that we find ourselves in.
Nature and climate change are considered to be inextricably linked. Climate change is one of the drivers of biodiversity loss, along with factors including unsustainable food production and the overuse of natural resources. In addition I helped to bring the electric buses to the area that will be launched later this year, reducing the impact of diesel fumes on residents. As well as securing funding for the full retrofit of local authority housing in 3 villages so residents have proper insulation, solar panels and airsource heat pumps. I have been working hard with the local bus user group to increase the public transport to our villages and secured funding for air quality studies in the busy village of Tideford.”<\/strong>

My background is teaching Permaculture and I am a keen environmentalist. In the area I live in Cornwall I have designed and now support a community garden, community orchard, local health centre wellbeing garden and work in local schools and pre schools promoting the ethics, Earth Care, People Care and Fair Share.

Permaculture offers several ways to help the environment. Firstly, it promotes sustainable land use practices that prioritise soil health water conservation and bio diversity. Permaculture and net zero are complementary concepts Permaculture, a design system for sustainable human habitats, can significantly contribute to achieving net zero emissions by promoting practices that reduce carbon footprint, enhance carbon sequestration, and foster biodiversity. By implementing permaculture principles, farms and communities can work towards balancing greenhouse gas emissions with removals. I volunteer and work with Permaculture Kernow here on the Rame Peninsula, South East Cornwall.<\/strong>“
