1. For what purpose are my data being collected?<\/b><\/p>\n
Your data are being collected in the context of an initiative led by Good Energy in collaboration with the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), which aims to understand and foster the use of renewable energy programs in the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n
2. What is the duration of the study?<\/b><\/p>\n
The first wave of this study will begin in February 2019 and the final wave will terminate by May 2020. Participants in earlier waves may choose whether to continue participating in subsequent waves. Each wave will last up to six months.<\/p>\n
3. What are the benefits of participation?<\/b><\/p>\n
By participating in this initiative, you will be able to take part in a brief survey that provides the opportunity to win one of 10 digital gift cards worth £100 in value. These £100 winnings will come in the form of a digital Tango gift card
4. Who will have access to my data, and for how long?<\/b><\/p>\n
The anonymised data will be securely stored and used by an independent group of academic researchers at LSE – who will have exclusive access to the data – in accordance with GDPR regulations. A fully anonymised and de-identified set of data will be kept in a secure data archive for the purpose of academic peer review and to enable the data to be used by the team for further research.<\/p>\n
5. How will the data be stored?<\/b><\/p>\n
The data will be stored at LSE in accordance with the School’s regulation
6. When and how can I discontinue my participation? Will my existing data still be used?<\/b><\/p>\n
Participation in this initiative is entirely on a voluntary basis. It is possible to discontinue your participation at any point in time by contacting the research team at goodenergy@lse.ac.uk<\/a>. Once your participation is discontinued, your data are removed from the sample unless you consent to the use of your collected data for research purposes.<\/p>\n
7. Are there any risks to my involvement with this initiative?<\/b><\/p>\n
By consenting to participate in this initiative, you consent to allow the LSE research team access to data on your energy consumption and other information related to your energy bill and account in compliance with EU data protection regulations under GDPR. You will be responsible for the use and recycling of any materials sent to you as a result of this initiative.<\/p>\n
8. Will participation in this initiative affect my service from Good Energy?<\/b><\/p>\n
Your participation will not have any impact on the service that you receive from Good Energy. Likewise, refusing to participate in this initiative will not have any impact on the service that you receive from Good Energy.<\/p>\n

10. Is Good Energy paying for the materials used in this initiative?<\/b><\/p>\n
This study is funded by LSE through several external academic research grants. LSE will therefore cover all design, printing, and postage costs for the initiative.<\/p>\n
11. Will the results of the initiative be shared with the participants after it ends?<\/b><\/p>\n

Questions about the project materials<\/h3>\n
1. It has been more than two months since I signed up and I still have not received my sign or window sticker.<\/b><\/p>\n
We do apologise for the delay. Please email goodenergy@lse.ac.uk<\/a> with subject heading “I have not yet received my materials” and your signpost or window sticker will be on its way shortly.<\/p>\n
2. I no longer wish to display my sign or window sticker. What should I do with it?<\/b><\/p>\n
The garden signs are 100% recyclable and should last for up to two years of outdoor use. Please dispose of your sign through the collection of recyclables in your locality. The window stickers are, unfortunately, not recyclable and will need to be disposed of accordingly.<\/p>\n
3. How do I check whether my sign\/window sticker has been used to encourage adoption by others who have seen it?<\/b><\/p>\n
You will receive an email from MentionMe every time a new household signs up as a result of seeing your sign or sticker.<\/p>\n

5. How do I assemble the garden sign? Where should I post my sign\/window sticker?<\/b><\/p>\n
Instructions on how to assemble and where to display the garden sign are provided with the accompanying cover letter. Ideally, we would recommend placing the sign or window sticker in a very visible location, within the premises of your property. For instance, this may be one of your street-facing windows (or in your garden, if you have a sign) – whatever you believe is the most visible place.<\/p>\n
