The search for the winners of The Earthshot Prize<\/path><\/svg><\/a> 2022 has begun and the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment is proud to be an official Nominator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Launched in 2020 and with the first incredible winners<\/path><\/svg><\/a> announced in October 2021, The Earthshot Prize is the most prestigious global environment prize in history, aiming to find new solutions to the world’s biggest environmental problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As an Official Nominator, we are one of over 300 organisations from across the world, invited to submit nominations across all five Earthshot categories<\/path><\/svg><\/a>, selected for our ability to identify the most impactful solutions across all sectors, from grassroots to businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will be nominating individuals, communities, businesses and organisations whose solutions make the most progress towards achieving the five Earthshots – simple but ambitious goals which if achieved by 2030 will improve life for us all, for generations to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Earthshot Prize will consider solutions which make tangible progress towards one of the five Earthshots. They should be beyond idea stage, have tested their solution in-field or with target audiences, and are at a ‘tipping point’ for scaling their impact within the next five years. The Earthshots are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Protect and Restore Nature<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Clean our Air<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Revive our Oceans<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Build a Waste-Free World<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Fix our Climate<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In view of the expertise at the Grantham Research Institute, we are seeking potential nominations for the ‘Fix Our Climate’ Earthshot, particularly those that incorporate social sciences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you have a solution that is inspiring, inclusive and impactful, please get in touch by sending an email to GRI.TEP@lse.ac.uk<\/a> to set up a further discussion. To help you understand what information you would need to provide for a nomination, you can download details here<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you would like to be considered for a potential nomination, please send a concise summary of about 100 words of the solution or person you are nominating to GRI.TEP@lse.ac.uk<\/a> no later than 9:00 am Greenwich Mean Time on Monday 7 February 2022.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This summary should be written as if you had to tell the story for a public audience. This summary should give a clear and inspiring story of WHAT the solution is, WHY it is needed and HOW it contributes to the selected Earthshot. Like an elevator pitch, if someone saw only this summary without the rest of the nomination form, they should have a high-level idea of what has been nominated and why.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If we would like to nominate your solution, we will contact you by Friday 11 February 2022. We will seek the assistance of everyone we would like to nominate to complete the submission. The deadline for nominations for The Earthshot Prize 2022 is 23:59 Greenwich Mean Time on Friday 4 March 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After nominations are submitted, they are screened as part of a rigorous assessment process culminating in the selection of five winners by the Earthshot Prize Council<\/path><\/svg><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finalists and winners are given an incredible platform to amplify their work, as well as tailored support from The Earthshot Prize and its network of NGOs, businesses, governments, funders and expert mentors. The five winners also receive a one-of-a-kind award<\/path><\/svg><\/a> and a one-million-pound grant to scale their impact.<\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"\n
