Kathryn Brown, a senior visiting fellow at the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment, has been awarded an OBE in the New Year Honours List

Kathryn is the interim director of climate action at the Wildlife Trusts, on secondment from the UK Government’s Climate Change Committee (CCC) where she is the head of adaptation. Kathryn has worked at the CCC secretariat for 10 years and most recently, she led the delivery of the CCC’s Independent Assessment of UK Climate Risk to inform the UK Government’s statutory climate change risk assessment. This is due to be published this year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elizabeth Robinson<\/a>, director of the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment, said: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I am absolutely delighted that Kathryn Brown, one of our Visiting Senior Fellows, has been awarded an OBE in the New Year Honours List for her services to climate change research. Kathryn’s focus on climate change risks and adaptation makes an important contribution to the work that we do at the Grantham Research Institute. All of us here are thrilled to share Kathryn’s wonderful news. We wish her the warmest of congratulations.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kathryn has a degree in Biological Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge, and a MSc in International Development from University College London. Prior to moving to the CCC, Kathryn spent 10 years at the UK’s Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs working on international negotiations, adaptation evidence and carbon budgets. Kathryn also held a research fellowship at the Grantham Institute at Imperial College London between 2017 and 2018, and is an affiliated researcher at the Stockholm Environment Institute. <\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"\n
