<\/iframe><\/p>\n <\/p>\nCOP 24 in Katowice, Poland, is being held three years after the landmark climate change agreement reached in Paris, and only a few months after the IPCC Special Report on 1.5 degrees called for urgent action. Commitments on action, however, remain too slow.<\/p>\nThe imperative for all countries now is to implement measures at the pace and scale required to meet the mutually agreed targets. COP 24 is a critical step in this process, as during the conference the rules that govern signatories will be discussed and hopefully agreed. Once established, these rules will set the requirements and trajectory for the commitments that countries will make to ratchet up their actions in 2020.<\/p>\nOur panel of distinguished speakers have been drawn from participants in the latest summit.
