<p>The first Global Stocktake of progress towards the goals of the Paris Agreement has been completed at the COP28 United Nations climate change summit in Dubai. The outcome of the summit has included for the first time a call on countries to contribute to a transition away from fossil fuels in the energy system\, in line with the goal of net zero global emissions by 2050. Other important progress was made on key issues\, including adaptation\, loss and damage\, finance and the just transition. This event featured insights and perspectives from experts who participated in the summit.</p>
