As part of a series of events planned to celebrate the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment’s (GRI) 10-year anniversary\, the Institute is holding a one-day event to facilitate exploration and identification of new UK research priorities for adaptation in developing countries.

The day will feature thematic sessions on: Private sector adaptation\; Governance and institutions for adaptation\; Climate information and Infrastructure\; and Economic and financial environments. These will feature short presentations from the Institute\, including insights from the Pathways to Resilience in Semi-Arid Economies (PRISE) project\, the Uncertainty reduction in models for understanding development (UMFULA) project\, and the Institute’s work on insurance and adaptation governance. In addition\, one session will showcase the research of PhD students in GRI working on adaptation. The afternoon will feature a panel discussion on future directions and priorities for adaptation research with external speakers from academic\, policy and donor communities.
