African Political Economy

The LSE African Political Economy Group exists to provide research-focused interaction around issues of African politics, and to encourage engagement between LSE and top international scholars in African politics.

Our regular seminars are a forum for members to present working papers, and for a discussion of new research in the field. These seminars are open to all faculty, fellows, and PhD students working on issues of African politics, or related development or political economy issues. The group also jointly hosts a yearly Working Group on African Political Economy, which is an all-day conference for the discussion of ongoing research in African politics and political economy by UK and EU scholars.

Organisers: Sarah Brierley (GV) and George Ofosu (GV)

Seminars of the African Political Economy Group will be held on Tuesdays in CBG 4.17 for members of the LSE community and also available online via zoom for external guests in Michaelmas Term. Members will receive access details in advance of meetings.

If you would like to be added to the mailing list, please contact gov.comms@lse.ac.uk
