About me

Before joining the LSE, Alexander held Fellowships at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies in Florence, and at the Centre for European Studies at the University of Oslo. He received his PhD from the School of Public Policy at University College London in 2016.

His work appears in journals such as the Journal of European Public Policy, Public Administration, JCMS: Journal of Common Market Studies, and the Journal of Legislative Studies. He has also published Business Lobbying in the European Union, OUP 2021 (with D. Coen, and M. Vannoni).

Research interests

Alexander’s research takes place at the intersection between public policy and political science, focusing on the interaction between policymakers and organized interests, decision-making procedures, and transnational partisan linkages. It aims to improve government policymaking through evidence-based recommendations in the areas of governance, transparency, and accountability.
