About me

For more than ten years, Valeria has worked in public policy, development and research projects related to indigenous peoples, social protection programmes, natural resources governance, environmental and intercultural policy.

Valeria holds an undergraduate degree in Anthropology from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru and a Master’s degree in Culture and Society from LSE. Before beginning her PhD at LSE she worked as a governance and policy specialist for a regional Amazonian conservation programme in Peru, Ecuador and Colombia. Valeria coordinated the technical assistance to public institutions regarding indigenous land rights, land use change, deforestation monitoring and environmental crimes.
