About me

Anshuman began his PhD in Environmental Economics at the LSE in 2017. He is interested in exploring the interactions between development policies and programs and climate change. Among the issues he currently plans to conduct research on are the viability of social protection programs in reducing vulnerability to climate shocks and the political economy of anti-poverty programs including the effect on welfare. He is training to be an applied micro-economist with expertise in empirical methods and big data.

Prior to the PhD program, Anshuman worked on a research project that looked at the impact of temperature and rainfall shocks on household consumption at the World Bank in Washington, DC. He also worked as an adviser with the government of Delhi in improving budgetary practices and project management. He holds a Master of Public Policy degree from the University of California at Berkeley as well as Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (ISM), Dhanbad, India.
