Juliana is Guest Teacher in Trade and Development at LSE. She joined the department in 2020, having previously been GTA at the department of Economics of University of Birmingham. She has also worked as research assistant at the Brazilian Institute for Economic Research at Getulio Vargas Foundation (Ibre – FGV) and at the Brazilian Institute for Applied Economic Research (Ipea). She is in her final year of PhD and holds an MSc. Economics from University of Bath.
Juliana’s research focuses on Environmental and Development Economics. She is particularly interested in air pollution, wild and agricultural fires, natural disasters and human capital.
