Joseph Ganderson is a researcher and doctoral candidate in the Department of Social and Political Sciences at the European University Institute (EUI), Florence. His primary interest is the politics of banking and finance in Europe after the Global Financial Crisis, but he is interested more broadly in how interactions between private and public actors shape tax and regulatory policy in European economies. His thesis research examines variation in post-crisis banking reforms in the UK, Germany and the Netherlands, and he also maintains an interest in fiscal and industrial policy in Europe.
He holds a BA in International Relations and Politics from the University of Sheffield and an MA in International Political Economy from King’s College London. Prior to his doctoral studies, he worked for several years in EdTech in London and Southeast Asia.
