About me

Tom Hunter is a PHD candidate at the European Institute who studies the consequences of this politicisation. He is particularly interested in how EU politicisation affects the democratic responsiveness of supranational institutions. 

Before beginning his PHD, Tom completed a BSc in Economics and an MSc in EU Politics at the LSE, where he was awarded prizes for best dissertation and best overall performance. He has also worked professionally at the European Parliament, the Open Data Institute, and as a football coach. His supervisors are  Sara Hagemann and Sara Hobolt.
