On 5 and 12 February of 2019, CIBL and JP Morgan (AsPIRE) held a Chinese New Year event to celebrate the Chinese New Year of the Pig in the Canary Wharf and Embankment offices. The AsPIRE team is focused on cultural promotion to all colleagues, regardless of heritage, and advancing the Firm’s commitment to diversity and community involvement. JP Morgan has a long-term cooperation with CIBL. In addition to regular language classes in the company, CIBL also offers Chinese business culture courses such as "Art of War" and Leadership for JP Morgan's senior executives.
The event kicked off with the lively dragon and lion dance performance. The teachers from CIBL brought traditional Chinese costumes, Chinese calligraphy, zodiac stories, and traditional Chinese culture to JP Morgan, attracting more than 200 members of staff to the events.
Through this Chinese New Year event, JP Morgan staff have a deeper and more systematic understanding of Chinese culture and customs. The Chinese students of LSE performed their own unique skills, such as the “changing face” of Sichuan Opera.
Dr. Lu Hong (OBE), Deputy Director of the Confucius Institute for Business London, encourages everyone to learn Chinese well, participate in various cultural activities of the Confucius Institute, and learn about China.
The Chinese New Year celebrations are a tradition of the Confucius Institute for Business London since its inception. It provides a platform and window for British people to understand China and experience Chinese culture. It not only serves to the exchange of Chinese and British cultures, but also promotes the cooperation between the Chinese and British people.
2月5日 和12日，LSE伦敦商务孔院（LSE CIBL）与JP Morgan 伦敦公司在伦敦金融城共同举办了为庆祝农历己亥猪年来临的中国新年活动。JP Morgan 和伦敦商务孔院有着长期的合作，除了在公司内开展语言课外，CIBL 还为JP Morgan的中高管开设了 “《孙子兵法》与领导力” 等中国商务文化课程。
活动在热闹的舞龙舞狮表演中拉开序幕。伦敦商务孔院的老师们为JP Morgan的员工们带来了中国传统服饰，中国书法，生肖寓意，中国传统文化宣讲，吸引了超过２００名中外员工的热情参与。伦敦商务孔院的老师们和当地员工一起贴福字，做中国结，写书法，试穿中国传统服饰，挂灯笼，赏音乐，品香茶，以中英文化合璧的方式迎接了猪年春节的到来。
通过举办这次中国新年活动，来自世界各地的优秀人才对中国文化和习俗有了更为深入和系统的了解。
LSE的中国留学生表演了自己的拿手绝活，川剧的 “变脸”等春节文艺节目。
孔子学院英方执行院长卢红博士鼓励大家坚持学好汉语，多参加孔子学院的各种文化活动，了解中国这一古老又现代的国家。
据悉，一年一度的新春系列庆祝活动是伦敦商务孔院自成立以来的传统，它为英国民众了解中国、亲身体验中国文化提供了平台与窗口，不仅有利于中英两国文化之间的相互交流，更有利于促进中英两国人民民心相通。
