Simon oversees the Monetary and Financial Markets work programme. He is a Distinguished Policy Fellow at the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment, which he joined in 2019. His work focuses on central banking and financial supervision in the context of environmental degradation, risk and the economic transition to a sustainable economy. Simon obtained a Ph.D. in Economics and an MSc in Development Studies from School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. He has worked for international think tanks and with central banks on the topics of sustainable finance, central banking, financial stability and emerging markets.
