Jens is Assistant Professor for Political Economy at the Department of Political Science at the University of Amsterdam. He is a Visiting Fellow at the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment, which he joined in 2021. His research is on the governance of financial markets, with a specific focus on how climate change and new macroprudential ideas are reshaping the role of central bankers and banking supervisors. Jens holds a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Cambridge and in Economics from the University of Groningen. He was a Max Weber Fellow at the European University Institute in Florence and an FWO Postdoctoral Fellow at KU Leuven.
