Professor Ahmet K. Suerdem has received his doctorate from Paris 8 University. He was a European Council Post-Doc fellow at Paris 5, Social Anthropology Dept. and Visiting Research Fellow at the UCLA and UCI, Marketing departments.
His primary research interests include bridging qualitative and qualitative methods for text analysis. More specifically, he works on automatic online media monitoring, corpus construction and text mining. He is also interested in researching the link between attitude survey data and media cultivation effects as measured by text analysis.
He is currently part time teaching at the LSE social network analysis in MY560 Workshop in Advanced Quantitative Methods seminars and UCINET modules in MY591 Workshop in Applied Analysis Software. He is also working together with Professor Martin Bauer in the Mapping the Cultural Authority of Science EU-India project.
