Focusing on psychological essentialism, my research aims to integrate the theory of social representations with the broader cognition and culture approach.
More specifically, I am interested in categorisation and essentialism within the folk-sociological domain. My PhD therefore examines the relationship between lay representations of socio-economic or social class categories and intuitive reasoning about the nature of people’s movements between them.
I hold an ESRC doctoral scholarship and am a member of the Leverhulme Programme in the LSE’s International Inequalities Institute.
