About me

Maxi’s PhD project investigates information and communications technologies (ICT) and social media use among adolescents and young adults. With the aid of Subjective Evidence Based Ethnography (SEBE), his dissertation will give an ethnographic account of both basic behaviours and habits connected to the everyday use of smartphones and other devices in a real-world context.

His research looks at how ICT and particularly smartphone users integrate their devices into their daily lives, and how this influences decision-making processes around the use of time and the direction of attention.

Maxi holds an LSE PhD Studentship, an MSc in Social and Cultural Psychology from the LSE, an MA in International Relations from Jacobs University and a BA in Political Science from the University of Bremen.
