Simon Fuglsang is a visiting research student at Department of Methodology at LSE for the Lent Term of 2023. Simon holds a BSc and MSc in Political Science from Aarhus University, and is currently a PhD student at the Danish Center for Studies in Research and Research Policy.
His main research interest is public understanding of science, studying psychological underpinnings of public opinion of science using quantitative methods, primarily in large cross-national surveys. The primary question guiding his doctoral work is whether, how, and to which degree the public relies on their general state of life when they make sense of the role of science in society.
In prior projects, Simon has investigated researcher perceptions of research integrity and quality perceptions in higher education. Simon is currently involved with research projects on trust in science, science skepticism, and institutional impact on public perceptions of science.
