About me

Kenneth Morrison is a Professor of Modern Southeast European History at De Montfort University in Leicester. He is the author of Nationalism, Identity and Statehood in Post-Yugoslav Montenegro (Bloomsbury Academic Press, 2017), Sarajevo’s Holiday Inn: On the Frontline of Politics and War (Palgrave MacMillan, 2016), Montenegro: A Modern History (IB Tauris, 2009), and (with Elizabeth Roberts) the co-author of The Sandžak: A History (Hurst & Co/Oxford University Press, 2013). He will be Visiting Professor at LSEE Research on SEE for the period April 2018 to April 2019.

Professor Morrison has published numerous scholarly articles in edited books and journals and he has written for the BBC, The Guardian, Balkan Insight, New Eastern Europe, IHS Global, Jane’s Intelligence Review, Jane’s Intelligence Digest and the Economist Intelligence Unit. In 2017, he was appointed Specialist Adviser to the House of Lords International Relations Select Committee for their 'UK and the Western Balkans' inquiry.
