The London School of Economics and Political Science, supported by the Jamsetji Tata Trust, launched a collaborative research programme on 26th June 2007 in partnership with The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS).
Dr Ruth Kattumuri initiated, established and directed this five-year programme. It was co-ordinated through the LSE India Observatory.
The research collaboration was undertaken in two streams, namely social sciences and health studies, during 2007/8 to 2012/13. This programme enabled knowledge development and capacity building for LSE and TISS. It supported regular engagement between academics through the appointment of research fellows, visiting fellowships, organisation of joint workshops, publications and other dissemination activities.
