Professional services team

The Professional Services team office is located on the first floor of Sardinia House. During term time, we offer face-to-face appointments and appointments via zoom.

Face-to-face appointments

During term time one member of the administrative staff will be in location from 11am to 4pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Please note this is not a walk-in service. Students will be seen by appointment only. Book your 10-minute face-to-face appointment slot (1pm to 3pm) on Student Hub where we show as "International History Administrators Office".

Appointments via Zoom

During term time Programme Administrators and other PSS members will also offer office hours via zoom. See bellow for the days and times they will be offering their office hours and how you can book your appointment slot.

Department Manager

Responsible for:

• Planning and management of departmental resources: human, financial and space
• Acting as the key interface between the Department and the School
• Responsible for quality assurance (reviews)
• Compliance responsibilities i.e. employment law, race relations, special education needs & disability, data protection, health and safety, and assessments
• First point of contact on contractual, resource and financial matters
• Responsible for the professional services team and its development

Mrs Jacquie Minter
Undergraduate Programmes Administrator and Office Manager

Responsible for:

• Undergraduate programme, including: degree and course enquiries including course choice, induction, exams, language course reimbursement queries, essay submissions queries, student staff liaison committee enquiries. Applications for undergraduate degrees are considered by Undergraduate Admissions, who make the decisions on whether to offer places. For admissions queries please contact ug.admissions@lse.ac.uk
• Department's Main Office and its facilities including post, fax, stationery; ordering and distribution of goods and services
• Estate-related requests e.g. maintenance issues and office requirements

Jacquie Minter has a certificate in Mental Health First Aid.

Student Experience, Events and Communications Officer 

Responsible for:

• Organising the Department's events programme: Welcome Week events, annual lectures, public lectures and student events.
• Overseeing logistics and coverage of departmental events on the day.
• Producing social media features and audio-visual content for web resources.
• Managing and coordinating internal and external projects in relation to student experience.

Mr Mathew Betts
Teaching Committee and Research Committee Officer

Responsible for:

• Administrative support and general business of the Department's Teaching and Research Committees, and Teaching and Exams Meeting
• Planning, implementation of policy and advice related to teaching programmes and the student experience
• Leading departmental business on  the CAPIS course management system
• Departmental administration for the Research Excellence Framework (REF)
• Administration for Visiting Academics, primarily during the application and welcome stages

Matthew Betts has certificates in Mental Health First Aid and Introduction to Counselling.

• Alumni relations and careers programmes and their activities in the Department
• Assisting the Department Manager with One Finance administration, payments and queries.

Dr Susana Sinfrónio Carvalho
Web Resources Editor

Responsible for:

• Designing, editing and updating the Department's website on CMS Contensis
• Maintaining and keeping up to date the department's presence in the LSE Student Hub and in social networks: Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram
• Designing, updating and editing the department's Moodle courses and online reading lists (readinglists@LSE)
• Creating and overseeing the production of video, audio, graphic and written content for departmental web resourses
• Promoting departmental events, news and programmes online
• First point of contact on all website, social media, Moodle, readinglists@LSE and LSE Student Hub matters relating to the department
