Dr Christopher Kissane is a BBC/AHRC New Generation Thinker for 2016-17. His research focuses on food in history, the history of citizenship, and Irish emigration. He has recently published his first book, Food, Religion, & Communities in Early Modern Europe, (Bloomsbury).
Dr Kissane handles research and communications for the Royal Historical Society.
In 2014 & 2015 he was a postdoctoral researcher in the Department, working with Prof. Patrick Wallis & Dr Chris Minns. He has a B.A. from Trinity College Dublin, and an M.Phil & D.Phil in Economic & Social History from Balliol College, Oxford.
