Students with disabilities

While there's no requirement to tell us if you have a disability, telling us in good time will allow us to make reasonable adjustments and provide you with the support you are entitled to. Read the Disability and Wellbeing Services pages for more information - there are also links to LSE support services for a range of issues on this page in the 'Your Wellbeing at LSE' section.

Welcome Meetings and Events (Week of 19-23 September)

Monday 19 September

Bank Holiday - LSE Campus and services closed for the day of the royal funeral.


 

Tuesday 20 September

 All new taught students will be required to undertake a two-stage enrolment process, Online Pre-Enrolment and in-person Campus Enrolment.  

On-campus registration takes place in the Marshall Building

Tuesday 20 September
Scavenger Hunt for Economic History freshers
Time: 2.00-5.30pm

Start locations: Economic History Common Room, G12 Sardinia House

A trail of clues will take you around the LSE campus and beyond. All teams will gather at the end for points, prize-giving and refreshments for all.  


 

Wednesday 21 September

Welcome Meeting for General Course students
Time: 2-2.30pm

Venue: NAB 1.04 

Professor Oliver Volckart and Helena Ivins will welcome general course students to the Department of Economic History.

 

Welcome Meeting for students on BSc Economic History, BSc Economics and Economic History and BSc Economic History and Geography programmes

Time: 3-4.30pm
Venue: NAB 1.04, New Academic Building
Followed by lunch afternoon tea, 4.30-5.30pm

Meeting  hosted by Professor Oliver Volckart (Undergraduate Programmes Director, Economic History Department) and Helena Ivins (Departmental Tutor). They will introduce you to the department and take you through the key information you need to get started as an Economic History student.

The meeting will be followed afternoon tea.

 


 

Thursday 22 September

Welcome Quiz, hosted by the LSESU Economic History Society

A trivia quiz to test your general knowledge, and help you get to know your fellow Economic History students. 

Time: 2-4pm
Venue: NAB 2.04 (New Academic Building)

 

Boat Trip - drinks reception and barbecue 

Time: Evening of 22 September, time tbc
Venue: Meeting at Temple Pier

£20 per ticket, covers 2 drinks and barbecue. Places limited - pre-booking required when link becomes available.

Sign up for a boat trip to view the sights of London from the Thames and enjoy drinks and BBQ with faculty and students of the department.

Master's Welcome Events

Induction meetings 

There will be an induction meeting for each programme led by the Postgraduate Programmes Director, Professor Olivier Accominotti. This will cover the key information about your programme and the department followed by a Q&A session. This also gives you the opportunity to meet your fellow students before the start of term.

You should attend the induction for your programme and the general induction for all MSc students.

Thursday 22 September  

A general introduction to the Department for all MSc students.  At this meeting you will meet faculty members, as well as representatives from the Library, Careers, Volunteering, and Languages among others.

Time: 16:00-18:00
Venue: CLM 5.02 (Clement House).

General induction meeting with new master's students

Time: 4pm
Venue: CLM 502 Clement House.
