Creative Writing Workshops

This series of events on Saturday 19 February will provide an opportunity to brush up on your creative writing skills, and find out just how to get that novel you've written published.
It will be free to attend these workshops, but registration is required. A registration form will be available on the individual weblistings, linked to below, from Monday 31 January.

Novel writing: a guide for novices and procrastinators with Justine Mann
Time: 10-11am

Does the task of writing a novel both excite and daunt you? Do you have a draft, or part of a draft, that you long to finish? This workshop will look at what constitutes a first draft and how to prepare your manuscript in anticipation of approaching a literary agent.

A reading and Q&A session with the novelist, Anjali Joseph
Time: 11am- 12pm

Anjali Joseph's debut novel Saraswati Park was published to critical acclaim in 2010. The Daily Telegraph listed her as one of the top 20 writers under 40 in Britain. She lives in Norwich and is working on her second novel.

Writing Across Borders: a Botswana perspective from Lauri Kubuitsile

Time: 12- 1pm

Lauri Kubuitsile will speak about the publishing climate in Southern Africa (in particular Botswana and South Africa) and how it’s different from the UK. She’ll also talk about writing across genres including television writing, writing for children, writing short stories and writing for adults.
