The Minister for Europe will consider how an enlarged EU can address global challenges and how the Reform Treaty will help the EU to perform more strongly both in Europe and internationally.

Jim Murphy MP is Minister for Europe. Prior to this he served as Minister for Employment and Welfare Reform at the Department of Work and Pensions.

The next public lecture organised by the European Institute will be on Thursday 17 January 2008 and is entitled Europe-Africa: the indispensable partnership.
