Allan Thompson is a Professor of Journalism at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. He also heads a media capacity-building project in Rwanda called the Rwanda Initiative. In this panel discussion he will introduce his new publication on the media and the Rwandan genocide, the first book to expore both the international and local sides of the media equation.

Allan Thompson will be joined by Richard Dowden (Director, Royal African Society), Lars Waldorf (Lecturer in International Human Rights Law, Institute of Commonwealth Studies), Mike Dottridge (author and human rights consultant) and Linda Melvern (Investigative journalist and Honorary Professor at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth).

This event is free and open to all with no ticket required. Entry is on a first come, first served basis.
