Jan Figel is the European Commissioner responsible for education, training, culture and multilingualism, a position he has held since November 2004.

This series is hosted by the European Institute at LSE and supported by LSE Annual Fund.

The next event in the series takes place on Tuesday 28 February - Valery Giscard d'Estaing, president of the European Convention, will give a lecture on The Political Future of Europe.

Ticket Information

This event is free and open to all however a ticket is required.

All tickets for this event for members of the public, LSE staff and alumni have been allocated and were distributed of Tuesday 7 February. Please note that one ticket per applicant was sent out. Any applicants who were unsuccessful in their ticket request have been advised.

All tickets for LSE students have also been allocated.

Returns Queue:
There will be a returns queue in operation for the Shaw Library. Shortly before the event starts we will fill any empty seats left by ticket holders with people from the returns queue. The returns queue will be located on the sixth floor of the Old Building, next to the Shaw Library. Entry is not guaranteed to this event via the returns queue
