Date: Thursday 21 October 2004
Time: 6.30pm
: Old Theatre, Old Building
Speaker: Professor John Hills
Chair: Professor David Held

Professor Hills will present findings and conclusions from his new book Inequality and the State (published by OUP on the same day), and explore the pressures on policy-makers as they try to reconcile public desires for a more equal society with constraints on resources and other apparently inexorable pressures for social spending.

John Hills is professor of social policy at LSE and director of LSE's Centre for Analysis of Social Exclusion (CASE).

This event is free and open to all with no ticket required.  Entry is on a first come, first serve basis.
