Miliband Lecture on Global Economic Governance: Globalising Justice

LSE Events presents

Date: Wednesday 20 March 2002
Time: 6.30pm
Venue: Old Theatre, Old Building
Speaker: Professor Robert Goodin
Chair: Professor David Held

Campaigners for social justice ordinarily bemoan globalisation, fearing that it will undo all their hard-won gains. Professor Goodin will argue that instead, they should embrace it as an opportunity for pursuing justice on a broader scale as principles of justice have global scope and the globalised political economy offers several good mechanisms for pursuing them.

Robert Goodin is Professor of Social and Political Theory and of Philosophy at the Research School of Social Sciences, Australian National University. Founding editor of The Journal of Political Philosophy, Goodin is the author of seminal books in the field of political theory, public policy and applied ethics.

This event is free and open to all. No ticket required.
