Student-led clubs and societies contribute greatly to the LSE experience for students, supporting their academic studies and enhancing their social lives on campus.
The Annual Fund works closely with the LSE Students' Union and student groups to ensure a broad range of initiatives is funded philanthropically. This academic year, 51 student-led initiatives have been underpinned by Annual Fund grants.
Examples of these projects are:
-
the London 2030 Summit, organised by students to provide a forum for current business and world leaders to meet and share their vision with the leaders of tomorrow
-
the LSESU Polish Business Society-hosted Third Polish Economic Forum, which saw over 480 attendees and an impressive array of speakers at one of LSE's largest student conferences
-
the first ever RCC Conference, named after the School motto of Rerum Cognoscere Causas – ‘to understand the causes of things’ – which brought together academics, policy makers, companies and students to exchange knowledge on the future challenges for Europe
-
funding the website for The London Globalist, an international affairs publication written and produced entirely by students at LSE through the LSESU Global 21 Society
