On an annual basis gifts from alumni and friends help to provide financial support to students, many of whom would otherwise be unable to accept their offer of a place or continue their education at the School.
New Futures Fund Scholarships
The New Futures Fund offers essential scholarship support to students. Its support can be in the form of full or partial awards, and can include 'top-ups' to students whose other funding does not fully cover the cost of their tuition.
This year, 34 students at LSE are benefiting from scholarships for the duration of their studies funded by regular gifts. These include undergraduates and postgraduates from the UK and all over the world.
Study Abroad travel bursaries
Regular giving has supported exchange bursaries that have enabled undergraduate students to study abroad during their degree. The School has exchange schemes with Sciences Po, a leading social science university in France; the University of California, Berkeley; and the University of Melbourne, offering students the chance to gain experience that helps them develop into engaged global citizens.
Bursaries provided by regular giving open up access to join the scheme, with 22 students benefiting in 2016/17, and another 17 during the last academic year. Students typically take part in the scheme after completing two years in London, returning to LSE for their final year of study.
