The LSE Widening Participation team are now recruiting staff for two of our largest and most successful summer projects, the Year 11 Summer School and LSE CHOICE (Year 12). Both programmes are non-residential week long Summer Schools taking place in July and August for London state school pupils.
Year 11 Summer School – Monday 7 to Friday 11 July 2014
We are looking to recruit Course Leaders and Course Assistants for a variety of subject areas. Course Leaders are responsible for planning at least two subject specific workshops to be delivered multiple times to all students on the Summer School. Course Leaders will also be responsible for the overall running of one stream of the programme. We would expect them to be current or past Masters or PhD candidates. Course Assistants, two per stream, assist the Course Leaders and are responsible for general administration of the week. These are either undergraduate or Masters students.
LSE CHOICE (Year 12) – Monday 18 – Friday 22 August 2014
We are looking to recruit LSE CHOICE Course Directors and Course Assistants from the following subjects: Economics, Government and Politics, History, Maths and Sociology.
Course Directors are responsible for the planning, running and overall teaching on the week long non-residential summer schools. We would expect them to be current or past Masters or PhD candidates in their chosen or related subject. Course Assistants, two per subject class, assist the Course Directors and are responsible for general administration of the week. These are either undergraduate or Masters students.
Course Leaders/Directors are paid approximately £1,300 before tax.
Course Assistants are paid approximately £400 before tax.
