APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2016 ENTRY TO THE ALISON WETHERFIELD LAW PROGRAMME ARE CLOSED.
The Programme
The programme is a LSE outreach initiative which aims to provide young people with an interest in law access to the legal profession.
The programme comprises of law master classes, an annual law conferfence and a law mentoring scheme. You will enjoy three masterclasses which consist of law sessions led by academics in the LSE Law Department and workshops focussing on study support, presentation and critical thinking skills.
Throughout the programme you will receive regular advice and guidance from LSE undergraduate law students.
You will conclude the programme with a one day conference. Delivered by academics from LSE's Law Department, the conference will lead you through an engaging programme of lectures and legal exercises. You will have the opportunity to talk with LSE representatives about admissions and other aspects of the university application process and with careers advisers.

Programme participants will be reimbursed for their travel costs.
Application criteria
The programme is open to Year 12 students from the greater London area.
To be eligible students must:

Have displayed an interest in Law
-
Are enthusiastic and able to commit to the programme

Attend a state school or college in London (preference is given to applicants attending schools/colleges performing below the national average or with FSM at 35% or above as defined in the DfE Performance Tables)

Have a GCSE profile of mainly A* - B grades
We will give priority to applicants who meet at least one of the following:

Eligible for free school meals and/or pupil premium

Looked After Child
Or two of the following:
-
No parental experience of Higher Education (HE)

Parents/carers employed in low socio economic categories
-
Parents/carers in receipt of means tested benefits

Live in an area of low participation to HE as defined by POLAR 3 Quintile 1 (http://www.hefce.ac.uk/postcode/).

Have a disability

From an ethnic group which is under represented in Higher Education.
Places on the Alison Wetherfield Law programme will be confirmed in late November.
