Your safety

On campus

The School is one of the few institutions in central London to maintain an open campus policy. This means that throughout the day many School buildings are open. This provides a free and collegiate atmosphere that many in the School enjoy. We are keen that you enjoy this atmosphere, but always bear in mind that the School is a public place.

If you would not leave your laptop unattended on a park bench you should not leave it unattended in the Library, the Garrick or any other public area of the School.

Please make a note of the emergency contact numbers on this page.
More info about safety on campus.

Lost property

Property lost and found is handled by the School's security teams working at the reception desk in the main entrance to Old Building.

To contact the Lost Property Office please e-mail:
Lost-Property@lse.ac.uk or alternatively call on 020 7955 7988.

Travel

If you are travelling back late to your residence keep to main streets and busy well-lit areas. Stay with freinds and keep an eye out for each other. Last Tubes leave Central London around 12.30am. Only ever use licensed black taxis displaying an illuminated taxi sign, only these cars can pick up customers on the street without pre-booking. Never get into unauthorised "mini cabs" that may solicit business on the street or outside venues. These vehicles and drivers are unlicensed and therefore illegal. Do not put yourself at risk.
