Whilst you are at LSE

Can I use the LSE Careers Service?

Unfortunately Summer School students are not entitled to use the LSE Careers Service but they can use the University of London Careers Service, which is located at Senate House, Malet Street London WC1E 7HU. A 1-hour face-to-face session costs £160.

Will I have full access to the library and its facilities?

All LSE Summer School participants are encouraged to make full use of LSE facilities. All Summer School students will be given a library card once they register. Photocopying and computing facilities are also available for you to use.

Are computer workstations available for Summer School Students?

Once registered at LSE, students will be given instructions on how to set up IT accounts, including an LSE email address, so that they can use the school’s IT facilities. There are approximately 1,000 networked Windows PCs available and there is access to printing facilities in the public computer rooms.

Am I allowed to change my course once the programme has started?

Course changes can be approved only within the first two days of each session. You will need to fill out a form at the Summer School Office. If you are changing to a 200 or 300 level course, you must come to the Office between 12 noon and 2pm and have your change approved by the Summer School Academic Tutor. If you are changing to a 100 level course, you may come to the Office at any time during opening hours.

Can we use the gym?

Summer School students will have access to the brand new gym facilities on campus, at a heavily reduced rate. More details on this can be found in your arrival information pack.

Are there any eating and drinking facilities on campus?

LSE Catering offers a fantastic choice of food and drink at its restaurants, cafes and bars, and provides a great place to socialise with friends and colleagues whatever the taste or budget. More details on this can be found in your arrival information pack.
