How do I make an application?

Applicants should submit an online application. Please read our application guidance page.

How will I be notified about the outcome of my application?

You will be notified by email, using the address provided in your application. You can expect to hear from us with an outcome within five working days. Please note that the LSE is closed during the Christmas and the Easter break, therefore a response during these periods will take longer.

What are the entry requirements?

Each application is assessed individually, taking into consideration the candidate’s application and supporting documentation. For an indication of minimum entry requirements, please read our application guidance page.

I’m not available that week. Can I take the course in the other week of the programme?

Each course runs for one week of the programme only, so is only available on the dates advertised.

Can I select more than one courses?

You can select a maximum of three courses; one in each week that the programme currently runs.

Does LSE offer financial aid?

Unfortunately the LSE is not able to offer scholarships or bursaries for any of its executive short courses.

What is included in the fee?

The fee includes the course tuition, study materials, daily lunches, coffee breaks and administration. There will also be at least two complimentary networking events; including a welcome reception on the Monday evening and a farewell dinner on the Thursday after class. 

How can I pay for the course?

You, or your sponsor, can make a payment by bank transfer, credit or debit card. An invoice with full payment details will be issued once you have been made an offer of a place. Where payment or confirmation is required quickly, we strongly advise participants pay by credit/debit card.

What is the total cost likely to be?

If you do not already live in London or within commutable distance, you should be aware that the cost of hotel accommodation in London varies widely. If you wish to stay within easy walking distance of the LSE you should expect to pay upwards of £150 per night. The LSE does not have cheaper student accommodation available during this time. 

You will be required to arrive before 9am on the Monday morning of your course starting, therefore you should budget for at least five nights accommodation in addition to your travel and general expenses.

How many hours of teaching are there?

The programme is intensive, there is a minimum of 30 hours’ teaching time. The day will run similar to a working day, with classes starting between 9 - 10am in the morning, and finishing between 5 - 6pm in the evening. There will be morning and afternoon breaks (refreshments provided) and a lunch hour.

At what time does the programme begin and end?

Registration will start early (c.08:30) before classes begin. The programme ordinarily ends by 5pm on the Friday.

Will I need a visa?

This will depend on a number of personal factors including your nationality. For our non-EU/EEA participants, the visa or entry clearance type most regularly used is the “Student Visitor”. For those needing to make an application in their home country, we recommend doing this as early as possible. Please see the guidance on the LSE International Student Visa Advice Team website. 

How can I obtain a visa letter?

Once you have paid your tuition fees, we can provide you with a letter confirming that you will be attending LSE for the dates of the programme. This letter can be used as one of the documents you submit for a visa/entry clearance.

Can you answer my visa question?

The LSE International Student Visa Advice Team team is qualified to provide visa advice to programme participants and their website is regularly updated. Requests for information not found on the website can be made using their Web Query Form.

Where will classes take place?

All classes will take place in and around the LSE’s New Academic Building, on the north-west corner of the campus. The address (for orientation only) is 54 Lincoln's Inn Fields, London WC2A 3LJ.

Can I visit the Programme Office?

The Executive Programme Office is based on the LSE campus (95 Aldwych). If you would like to visit us, it is helpful if you email exec.courses@lse.ac.uk or call ahead (020 7849 4615) to ensure that someone can be available to meet you.
