How to Apply

LSE Executive Summer School - Executive Education

We ask that you upload the following documentation as part of your online application: 

  • University degree certificate / transcript
  • Curriculum Vitae / Resumé

Assessment

Once submitted, your application will be assessed by an academic in the relevant field.  You will be notified of the outcome within a week of submission. 

Acceptance

If successful, you will be emailed an offer and details of how to accept it. A place on the course is guaranteed for 14 days, and is confirmed upon full payment of tuition fees. Fee payments must be received within this time, otherwise your place will be made available to new applicants. By accepting your offer, you also agree to our  terms and conditions|.

Confirmation

Once notified that your place is confirmed you can begin making plans for your time at LSE. Pre-course reading materials (if any) will be made available to confirmed participants from 2 weeks prior to the start of each course.

Cancellation of courses

Occasionally it is necessary to cancel or postpone courses. Should a course be subject to a major change, applicants will be offered the option to either transfer to another course or receive a full refund. Any alterations to the programme will be made in writing no less than four weeks before the start of the programme.

If you are coming from abroad, you are strongly advised to take out comprehensive travel insurance for the duration of your stay.

Cancellation by a participant

Participants may cancel enrolment up until 7 days before the start of the course.

Cancellations made at least 30 days before the start of the course will be refunded in full, less a £100 application fee. Cancellations less than 30 days before the start of the course will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations made less than 7 days before the start of the course will not be refunded.

Executive education summer school courses are taught to the School's high standard and are therefore academically rigorous. Participants are expected to be fluent in English, with a good first degree in a relevant subject. 

As an executive programme, experience in the workplace is a key requirement. Most of our participants have over 10 years' experience but we will consider applicants with a minimum of 2 years' professional experience.  Additionally some courses have specific prerequisites, which are listed in the course description.

Requirements in brief

Alumni discount

Alumni of both  the LSE and the Executive Summer School are  entitled to a 15 per cent discount off the advertised course fee.

Offer holders can have one of the following discounts applied to their tuition fees.

1.  Alumni

For offer holders who are (i) graduates of the LSE, or have in a previous year completed a session of (ii) the LSE Summer School, (iii) LSE Methods Summer Programme or (iv) LSE Executive Summer School, a discount of 15% of the tuition fee will be applied. This is subject to production of suitable evidence. Please see Exclusions below, for a list of courses which cannot be discounted.

2.  Early Bird

For offer holders whose course application was received by 31st January 2015 (midnight GMT) and payment received in full by 14th February 2015, a discount of 10% of the tuition fee will be applied. Applicants who do not make the payment in full by this date will be re-issued a new invoice for the full non-discounted rate.

Please see Exclusions below, for a list of courses which cannot be discounted.

3.  Groups

Where a single employer provides three or more participants to the programme, a discount can be agreed by contacting the Programme Manager|. In the case of courses excluded from discounting, the discount would be applied to the eligible courses only. 

4.  Exclusions

The following courses are excluded from the discount policy:

Achieving Leadership Excellence (22-26 June 2015)

Strategic Decision Making for Management (22-26 June 2015)

Discounts cannot be applied against these courses, regardless of the date of application, alumni status or group booking.

5.  Other

Other discounts or group arrangements must be discussed with the Programme Manager or Marketing & Recruitment Manager.
