Who are you?
My name is Samson Mbewe. I am from Zambia and I am a Masters student in Applied Economics at the University of Cape Town.
What did you study on the LSE-UCT July School?
I chose the Economics course After 'The Hopeless Continent' because I wanted to learn more about economics in Africa from renowned experts.
The course was exceptional. We had three brilliant lecturers who were well versed in their respective areas of speciality, and I had the chance to learn with students from all over the world, which made the July School a thrilling and stimulating academic and social experience.
I particularly enjoyed the diversity of the group discussions in the classroom, which has broadened my analytical skills and given me greater appreciation of different perspectives.
How was your experience of Cape Town?
Cape Town is an incredibly beautiful city – there is so much to do and so many places to see! Not once did I have a dull moment.
