Who are you?
I am a Canadian student who is currently studying at the University of Toronto, I was in Beijing working at the Embassy of Canada to China when I decided to do the LSE-PKU summer school program.
What did you study on the LSE-PKU Summer School?
I took the course "China in comparative perspective: The political economy of transformation" and thoroughly enjoyed the course. I initially chose this course because I thought it might provide a good framework and add context to the work I had done at the Embassy of Canada to China. I enjoyed the course because I feel like it provided a very coherent narrative of events and drivers behind the China we see today, it greatly deepened my understanding of China.
How was your experience of China?
I had been living in Beijing for about a year prior to taking the course, but had never had a chance to see the beautiful Peking university campus. I really enjoyed the campus and other cultural aspects of Beijing.
