Student life

The Students' Union represents LSE students and aims to ensure that your time at the School is not just about studying but is also as enjoyable as possible. The Union organises entertainment and funds over 150 student societies covering a wide range of interests. These societies add a huge amount to students’ experience of LSE and of London. The variety of societies and activities change with the interests and initiative of each new group of students; an A-Z listing of the current student societies can be found on the Students' Union website.

Austrian Society

The Austrian Society is aimed at uniting Austrians at the LSE as well as celebrating the rich Austrian culture. Our very successful past events include, among many other things: the Austrian Ball in London - including free waltz-dancing lessons, trips to Red Bull Racing and Goldman Sachs,  as well as Skiing trips! In addition, we offer free German lessons and pub nights (Stammtisch!) Everyone is welcome to join!

Elida Cavic - Vienna, Austria

MSc Management

During my time at LSE I founded the MSc Management Society. Over the year we have organised various events sponsored by the department which have brought the students in our class together; for example we went to Lisbon for a long weekend and we had a Christmas party which was very successful. I am very pleased that the elements which attracted me to LSE, especially the international atmosphere with students from everywhere around the world have lived up to my expectations. We have created a wonderful community, fostered by the excellent facilities at LSE, including the Library. Once I complete my programme I will be working for BP in the Eurograduate Programme which consists of five years in three different European cities working in various business units and positions.
