The second Masterclass for 2016, Demographics and an Ageing Population, will take place in Madrid from Monday 23rd to Wednesday 25th May 2016 at the Fundación Ramón Areces.
The first day will begin by providing an introductory framework on population ageing, looking at global trends and how this impacts on health and social care needs. The second day will look at the politics of old age and the impact on welfare states. Finally, the masterclass will draw to a close by reviewing the impact of an ageing population on pensions. Taking into consideration economic theory, policy directions and using real life case studies from China, Chile and Sweden to shed light on the situation.
