Mobility, Innovation, Higher Education and Competitiveness

Update: watch Dr Carsten Sørensen's video and listen to Professor Craig Calhoun's talk

The first Masterclass, Mobility, Innovation, Higher Education and Competitiveness, will take place in Madrid between Tuesday 7 and Friday 10 May 2013 at the Fundación Ramón Areces.

The programme will focus on understanding key trends and challenges for mobility, innovation, higher education, and competitiveness. The Masterclass will open with a discussion on mobility and technology, and examine the future of ´work´ as we know it.  The programme will then link these discussions to labour markets and higher education in the 21st century, with an in-depth discussion on higher education, research excellence and the importance of human capital. Finally the programme will summarise and examine how these issues can directly affect national competitiveness, with a dedicated session on Spain in the European and global context.
